Name: Cherie Clark Website: Cher's Family page Referred by: Net Search From: Maumee OH Time: 1997-03-18 09:31:00 Comments: Hi! I've been here before...just found a great book that lists the descendents of two brothers, William and John Fife, who came to Upper St Clair Twp in Allegheny Co. PA in 1756 and 1766. It shows lines of the family all over the country. Any questions? I'd be happy to look for you family members. The book goes up to about 1890. I found my g-g-grandfather! |

My grandmother Eva Johnson was a Golightly before she married a Johnson. My great grandmother is Eva Jane Hayes who married Henry Golightly and her sister is Lottie Hayes who married a Sam Fife. All I know about the Fifes is that Sam had at least 4 kids David, Eunice, Alton, and James Morri. Dave had 2 kids that I know of Diane and Gary Don. James Morris had 1 child that I know of and her name was Betty. Betty married a Roy Smith and they had 3 kids Judy, Andy, and James. James married and had 2 kids Both of whom I go to school with his daughter Nikki who is 16 is dating my brother Noel who is 17. They are one of the reasons I want to know about my family tree. If anyone can help me please e-mail! |

From: Los Angeles, CA Time: 1997-02-11 22:39:00 Comments: Years ago I went out with a Suzy Fife, who was in school at that time at Tulane University in New Orleans. We were both lifeguards at a pool in Richland, WA. After that summer, she went to school in France and her parents moved to SoCal (I think Long Beach). Haven't seen her since 1972 and wondering how she is. Would appreciate any info anyone has. |

Name: Iain Hinchliffe Website: The Sawyer Home Page Referred by: Just Surfed On In! From: Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland Time: 1997-02-05 11:16:00 Comments: Interesting site. I'm not personally aware of too many people with the surname 'Fife' in Kirkcaldy - but then there are around 60,000 folk here! Not that I'm advertising (it has nothing to do with me!) but:- If it's geneology within Fife that you are interested in, my stepfather has been studying this area for a long time; he advertises in The Scots Magazine and his name is Ewen Collins. He no longer lives in the kingdom of Fife but I think he maintains some connections with the geneological societies round here... I was in Toronto last year. I don't think that, in general, people from Scotland are aware that there is a healthy Scottish tradition carried on throughout Canada. I enjoyed my time there and was glad to see that I could get Irn Bru (a non-alcoholic Scottish fizzy drink that is a national icon in itself) - even though it ironically came from an Irish shop! |

My great grandparents were married there on June 19, 1871, their names: Thomas Nelis and Margaret McDermaid. They settled in West Calder for a few years and moved to the US in 1881 and opened a grocery store in Port Perry, Pa. Good luck in your research on the Fife name. |

Name: Kimberly Bombeck (maiden name: FIFE) Website: Referred by: Just Surfed On In! From: Glenolden, Pennsylvania (outside of Philadelphia) Time: 1997-01-22 19:08:00 Comments: Enjoyed being a Fife, still do! Interested in hearing from other Fifes. Can't trace my roots very far back. Grandfather passed away rather young and took most of the family history with him when he went. He was Michael Fife of Philadelphia, PA and was a Railroad Engineer. There are few Fifes in this area all of which are related to Michael. Tired of hearing the Barney Fife jokes and would like to identify with "real" Fifes! |
