Sam was generally a pretty ineffectual mad bomber. Whether his target was the state capitol, the Cornhusker football team or a political opponent, he usually succeeded in blowing up only himself. In this instance, however, he manages to get me!

This strip's title, "Up From the Inwell," is a nod to the Max Fleischer Out of the Inkwell animated cartoons. The artists in the audience will note that I was using a Rapidograph pen pretty much exclusively back then.
