This cartoon illustrates Firesign's Sherlock Holmes parody, The Tale of the Giant Rat of Sumatra. It's done in the style of underground cartoonist S. Clay Wilson (a one-time resident of my hometown, Lincoln, Nebraska). All the situations and dialogue reflect incidents on the album -- though the bottle of 69-cent bar scotch and pool of cheap rotgut in the lower left are homages to Nick Danger.
