The room darkens, pitter-patter, pitter-patter, ka-tink, ka-tink echo's from the fireplace
I hear the resonant whisper of the wind blow softly
Intrigued, I rise to seek a view of the unexpected afternoon storm
From within my dwelling secretly I watch with reverence
As the trees magically come to life
Upon my front lawn I behold a most mesmerizing sight
The north star cherry and redbud trees are shaking and trembling excitedly
A towering scotch pine is bouncing up and down as though he is overwhelmed with joy
The maple tree, fluid and relaxed, is swaying to and fro in such a manor I can almost hear her sing.
And suddenly ... I notice standing in the center of the lawn
A majestic, huge, cottonwood dancing wildly, energetically...utterly enthused
My mind fills with wonderment, my heart fills with contentment
As I watch the wind enable the trees to dance in rhythm to the falling rain
And once again I give thanks
For the Lord has bestowed a visionary blessing upon me
As I bear witness to the celebration of the trees ~
