The "Newfy" Dictionary
The Newfy Dictionary came about because of the terminology and pronunciations used by the people I met from Newfoundland. There are some people from northern Newfoundland that even Newfy's can't understand, because their accents are so thick. Newfoundland is pronounced NewfundLAND, with an emphasis on the word "land". The "th" sound is not part of their vocabulary and the number 3 is pronounced "tree". This is my attempt at giving those who have never been to Newfoundland a glimpes of what I experienced while I was there. You may also want to check out the photo gallery of the trip and the journal that I created.
