About Us |
The Nebraska Catfish Anglers Association was founded in 1989 by 5 anglers who were looking for something different in a fishing club. We wanted an organization that would provide a setting not only for competition but that would also provide an opportunity for the less experienced angler to learn from those more experienced. We also wanted an organization in which their opinions could be voiced and counted. N.C.A.A. memberships are sold as family memberships and our membership averages 80 - 100 each year. We have teams that may include parents and children, grandparents, husbands and wives, two women, as well as the more traditional two man teams. Fifteen N.C.A.A. members are certified by the Nebraska Game and Parks Dept as fishing instructors. They have given seminars for schools, churches, cities, and small towns covering such topics as fish identification, bait and lure presentation, habitat, safety, and ethics.
The club provides each year to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission a breakdown of all fish weighed in at each tournament, which helps them with their population and growth studies. We are proud of the diversity of our members, our dedication to the preservation of our natural resources, and our involvement in helping to promote tomorrows anglers, both by teaching and by example. |
